With over 35 years of experience in the commercial, association, non-profit, government, and higher education sectors, Dea is a focused, passionate, and visionary leader who helps organizations advance their missions, solve hard problems, and achieve goals. As the Board Chair Emeritus by Proclamation of Excelsior University, he provided strategic guidance and oversight to one of the largest and most innovative online universities in the nation.

An opera singer born in Haïti, Coupet has a strong commitment to classical music and the vocal arts in particular. This led her to found VBF to promote the next generation of artists, while bringing world-class performances to the public.

A Unique Concept: Classical Music ReimaginedDrawing inspiration from the success of events like Coachella, VBF has been dubbed “The Coachella of Classical Music,” offering audiences an innovative approach to experiencing classical and contemporary music. Viva Brooklyn Fest is accepting virtual auditions for choristers, solo vocalists, and solo instrumentalists for our inaugural 2024 – 25 season in Miami, Florida, conducted by Matias Cuevas. Our Holiday ’24 concert will feature Beethoven’s Mass in C major. Our Easter ’25 concert will feature Mozart’s Requiem. To audition, fill out our virtual audition form.

1. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria: adults with the right to work in the United States. Virtual Auditions should be submitted only via the official Virtual Audition Form.2. Audition Process and Deadlines
The audition process includes filling out and signing a virtual application form, paying application dues. All materials must be submitted by deadlines posted on the auditions page at vivabrooklynfest.org.3. Technical Requirements
Submissions must adhere to the following technical specifications: live links to videos without passwords in minimum HD format with clear audio.4. Use of Submitted Materials
Submitted audition materials may be used by Viva Brooklyn Fest for assessment, archival, educational, and promotional purposes as indicated in the virtual audition form. By submitting these materials, you grant us non-exclusive rights to use them for these purposes.5. Confidentiality and Privacy
All personal information provided will be treated confidentially and will only be used for the purpose of this audition process in compliance with applicable data protection laws. Artist's profiles will be published only for winning auditions after the artist has accepted an offer from Viva Brooklyn Fest.6. Non-Discrimination Policy
Viva Brooklyn Fest is an equal opportunity organization and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.7. Feedback and Communication
Audition results will be communicated via email. Feedback will be provided at the discretion of Viva Brooklyn Fest.8. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
In the event of cancellation or rescheduling of a live audition, notify Viva Brooklyn Fest at least 36 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of audition and the forfeiture of any paid fees.9. Liability and Release
Viva Brooklyn Fest is not liable for any technical failures, submission errors, or other issues beyond our control. By agreeing to these terms, you release Viva Brooklyn Fest from any claims related to such issues.10. Agreement to Terms
By submitting your audition materials, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.11. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Viva Brooklyn Fest reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions at any time. All participants will be notified of any changes.12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of New York, NY. Any disputes will be resolved through arbitration.13. Fees and ScholarshipsApplication Fees:Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of $40 per program at the time of submission. This fee covers the administrative and processing costs and is not refundable under any circumstances.Pay-to-Perform Fees:For selected vocal soloists and conductors, a pay-to-perform fee of US $900 is applicable. For instrumental soloists, the applicable fee is US $450. There are no performance fees for choirists. These fees are required to cover the costs associated with the performance opportunity and are non-refundable.Scholarships for Pay-to-Perform:A limited number of scholarships are available to partially or fully cover the pay-to-perform fees for deserving candidates.Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability and merit.Applicants interested in applying for a scholarship should submit a scholarship application form along with their audition materials.Receiving a scholarship is not guaranteed for all applicants. Scholarship recipients will be notified separately.Refund Policy:Application fees and pay-to-perform fees are non-refundable except in extraordinary circumstances, as determined by Viva Brooklyn Fest in its sole discretion.In the event of cancellation of the program by Viva Brooklyn Fest, fees may be refunded or applied to future opportunities at the discretion of Viva Brooklyn Fest.14. Submission and Use of Photographs and Other Media
Photo Submission: Applicants are required to submit headshots and may choose to submit additional photographs or media with their audition materials. These photographs should be recent and accurately represent the applicant.Non-Exclusive Use in Media: By submitting these photographs, applicants grant Viva Brooklyn Fest the non-exclusive right to use these images in various media formats including, but not limited to, digital media, print media, and social media platforms for purposes such as promotion, advertising, and documentation.Representation and Warranties: Applicants represent and warrant that they have the full legal right and authority to grant these permissions and that the photographs do not infringe on the rights of any third parties.Copyright Clearance Responsibility: Applicants take sole responsibility and liability for ensuring that any copyrights pertaining to the submitted photographs and media are duly cleared. This includes obtaining necessary written permissions from copyright holders for the use of these materials by Viva Brooklyn Fest.Credits: While Viva Brooklyn Fest will endeavor to provide appropriate credit for the photographs or media when used, it is understood that this may not always be possible.Duration of Use: The right to use these photographs or media is granted for an indefinite period unless otherwise requested in writing by the applicant in advance.Withdrawal of Consent: Applicants may withdraw their consent for future use of their photographs or media by providing written notice to Viva Brooklyn Fest.
